VOICE & PIANO STUDIO

Teaching Philosophy
Each lesson I teach is catered to the student’s specific goals while incorporating a healthy technique, ear-training, sight-reading, music theory, and performance practice. For voice specifically, I emphasize the importance of proper alignment, the release of tension, deep belly breathing, an open throat, and proper vowel placement. Piano lessons include technique, scales and/or arpeggios, chords, a lesson and theory book, and a minimum of two pieces of contrasting genres. I thrive on providing my students with the tools needed to achieve their musical goals, and to make the process as fulfilling and exciting as possible. For younger students, I often incorporate games into the lessons. I have experience teaching students of all levels, including absolute beginners, professionals, and everything in between. My students currently range in age from 4 to 60. To compliment my students' studies, I provide them with multiple performance opportunities throughout the year.
